Branding For Events

The part of learning event planning that provided the most enjoyment was designing the branding for each event. For this part, I would try to think of an aesthetic, or vibe, that would match how I wanted people to feel on the day of. In the beginning of planning my very first event, I didn’t know where to start. All I knew was that I was confident in my graphic design capabilities, so I started there. Below you will see some examples of the branding style that I created for each event.

As you can see from the social media post designs above, I have carried similar styles through to each following event. I would keep elements that I felt worked the best and incorporate them into other promotions. Each event required different details to inform potential visitors about. For example, the Fall Festival is the only festival that has the option of spending money for a ‘ticket.’ We would only require payment if visitors wanted to participate in the fall activities or corn maze, but if they only wanted to experience the event (vendors, food trucks, pumpkin picking, and live music), they were able to go through the gates for free.

I learned a lot from designing the branding for these events. Originally, I was worried about branding the events “too cute” or “too unserious,” as it was for a farm event. However, I pushed through with these designs, as I feel like it sparks curiosity and excitement in the people that view it. Surprisingly, everyone else at the farm, and everyone who saw the promotions, told me they loved it. This gave me more confidence to completely take on creative control for all following events, which resulted in being super successful.
